What it measures

Not knowing where a target will appear, your eyes find it and your hand moves the cursor to click. Visual search, hand-eye coordination, and motor reaction time all in one. With added 'movement' beyond simple reaction, it's closer to real-game or sports reactions.

Where's the average?

Depends on mouse travel distance, but for this stage size, roughly:

Avg per targetApproximate
~350msVery fast
350–450msAbove average
450–550msSolid
550–650msAround average
650ms~Room to improve

How to hit faster

Mouse sensitivity

Too high and you overshoot; too low and it takes too long to reach. The sensitivity that lets you reach a target in one motion produces the fastest reactions.

Gaze

Fixing your gaze on one point shortens travel distance when a target appears. Rather than scanning the whole stage, rest near the center and watch the periphery.

Reduce empty clicks

Clicking empty space registers as a miss and lowers your hit rate. The habit of confirming the target before clicking improves both accuracy and speed.

FAQ

How is per-target time measured?

From the moment a target appears to the moment you click, in milliseconds. The average of 15 targets is your result.

Does it work on touchscreens?

Yes. Though touch makes fine aiming harder than a mouse, so averages may run slightly higher.

How is hit rate calculated?

Hits / (hits + empty clicks) × 100. Clicking the edge of a target may register as a miss.
